Incentive Measures

Criteria

Thailand provides an Incentive Measures for international film production projects with local expenditure of 50 million THB (approximately 1.43 million USD) or more, including 15% main rebate and an additional rebate of up to 5%, selectable from the following
  • 3%
    for hiring Thai people in key positions in the film production.
  • 5%
    for filming contents promote Thailand’s image, soft power and tourism.
  • 3%
    for filming in designated tourism provinces or cities.
  • 2%
    for using post-production services in Thailand.
  • 5%
    for any projects with local expenditures of 150 million THB (approximately 4.29 million USD) or more. The maximum rebate is 150 million THB (approximately $4.29 million USD) per project.

1. Presenting positive image or promoting positive perception of Thailand, at least one of the following :

Festival or Tradition
Showing the enchantment, uniqueness, and inspire audience to take part in the festival.
Thai Cuisine or Thai Dessert
Showing the cooking process, delicacy, finesse, Thai ingredients and inspire audience to experience.
Thai Costume, Fabric, or Craft Products
Showing the production process, subtlety, elegance, value, and inspire the audience to wear Thai costume or Thai fabric.
Thai Martial Arts
Showing beauty and excellence of Thai Martial Arts as well as the preservation and inspiration to the audiences.
Identity of Thais
Showing the uniqueness of Thai people such as friendliness, kindness, or Thai Smile.

2. Presenting the beauty of Thailand’ Tourist attractions.

Showing the beauty of natural attraction or the modern of man-made attractions at least 5 scenes. Also present an impression and inspiration to travel.
Mentioning name of attraction in the dialogue as well as the outstanding features to inspire the audience to explore.

The movie is well-received by audiences.

For theatrical release, must rank in Top 5 of box-office chart in the country of production.
For steaming services release, must rank in Top 5 chart in the country of production.

Note : If not released in the country of production, consider instead the ranking record upon release in at least one of the G20 countries.

Note : the number of days of principal photography in these areas is not less than 50% of shooting period in Thailand.

The spending cost for post-production services in Thailand should not less than 15% of the eligible spending.
